The Roomba Combo j9+ is technically capable, but iRobot's 2025 Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing casts serious doubt on future support. The Amazon acquisition failed, leaving the company in financial distress. Current owners face uncertainty about: software updates, replacement parts availability, warranty service, and app maintenance. The product itself features retractable mop (stores on top when vacuuming carpets), good obstacle avoidance, and the iconic Roomba navigation. However, at $1,399 MSRP, buyers pay premium prices for a company with uncertain future. Competitor products from financially stable Ecovacs, Roborock, and Dreame offer better value and long-term support confidence. We cannot recommend iRobot products until company stability is resolved. Existing owners should continue using devices but plan transition.
